The Arrowverse is a shared fictional universe that is the setting of superhero television series airing on The CW, produced by DC Entertainment and based on characters that appear in DC Comics publications. The shared universe includes two live-action television series (''Arrow'' and ''The Flash'') and one animated web series (''Vixen''); it is set to expand with ''DC's Legends of Tomorrow'', which revolves around multiple characters from ''Arrow'' and ''The Flash'' teaming up and is set to air during the 2015–16 midseason. As the universe is composed of television series adapted from a variety of DC Comics properties, there are multiple lead actors in the main cast of each show: Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen / Green Arrow in ''Arrow''; Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / Flash in ''The Flash''; Megalyn Echikunwoke as Mari Jiwe McCabe / Vixen in ''Vixen''; while ''Legends of Tomorrow'' features multiple lead actors: Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein; Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer / The Atom; Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter; Ciara Renée as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl; Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson; Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory / Heat Wave; Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart / Captain Cold; Caity Lotz as Sara Lance / White Canary and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall / Hawkman. Matt Ryan reprises his role as John Constantine from NBC's ''Constantine'' in the fifth episode of ''Arrow''s fourth season.
